Australia – sheep flock decline

Meat & Livestock Australia is forecasting a 2.7% fall in the sheep flock to 67.1 million head by 30 June 2026 and a 11% drop in lamb slaughter in 2026 to 21.86 million head.
USA – wheat planting drop
USDA is forecasting a fall in wheat planting of 1.6m acres to 43.8m acres for 2026, which would be the lowest since records began in 2019.
Uruguay – China
quota allocation
The beef quota for China will be allocated to companies in Uruguay based on past performance, not a first-come, first-served basis (WBR).
