A straight-forward, practical, no-nonsense farm has come to the market in Graigue, Co Tipperary, over the last fortnight. Containing only land, the farm is not offered with a residence or any farm buildings.

What is does have, however, is circa 80 acres of good-quality south Tipperary land. When speaking with John Fitzgerald of Dougan Fitzgerald, the Clonmel-based auctioneer was impressed with the holding, saying it was exactly what you get on the tin. According to Fitzgerald, the package would be ideal for growing crop or rearing heifers, but in reality can be used for a variety of purposes. The farm has been in the ownership of the same family for the last number of years and it has been recently rented out to a tillage farmer. The land has been kept in very good condition, with rapeseed being grown there this year. While there was early confusion as to the acreage offered, Irish Country Living can confirm that 80 acres will be in the package and not 70 acres, as previously stated.

Offering

The farm is offered in the entire only and the guide of between €9,500/ac and €10,000/ac seems reasonable. It is early days yet and the level of enquiries are expected to rise over the following weeks. The holding is being offered via public auction on 12 October at the Cahir House Hotel. The auctioneer is hopeful that local interest will be strong for this farm.
