A 48-acre residential farm will be offered for sale by public auction later this month. The farm is situated at Brittas, Tullaroan, Co Kilkenny, and is described as “a top quality farm, all in pasture in a prime farming area” by selling agent Pat Gannon of Pat Gannon Auctioneers, Kilkenny.
The two storey residence was constructed in the 1930s and features a kitchen, reception room, living room, dining room and three upstairs bedrooms. The house stands on ¾ acres with a tarmac driveway, landscaped gardens and includes a two-bay haybarn, fuel shed, tool shed and garage.
The farm will be offered for sale in its entirety or in separate lots. Lot one comprises the entire property, while lot two comprises c30 acres on its own. The third lot extends to 18.2 acres along with the residence and farm buildings.
Lot four comprises 17.5 acres while the fifth and final lot is the residence on its own.
The property will be offered for sale by public auction on Friday, 12 September, at 2pm in the Club House Hotel, Kilkenny. The sale is being handled by Pat Gannon Auctioneers, Kilkenny.
Pat Gannon also reported the sale of 18 acres a number of weeks ago. The land, which was situated at Ballycoam, Stoneyford, Co Kilkenny, was sold privately in two separate lots.
Lot one comprised 11 acres and was bid to €130,000 (€11,818/ac) before being withdrawn. It was then sold privately to a local farmer after the auction. The remaining seven acres made up lot two. This plot of land was bid as far as €100,000 (€14,286/ac) before also being withdrawn and again sold privately after auction.
Auctioneer Pat Gannon had described them as two “nice little pieces” of good ground. CL
