Land prices fell slightly in Wexford. The average price in 2025 was €17,237/ac, down from €17,771/ac. That was a decrease of €534/ac, or 3%.
Supply was also down. We examined 37 holdings put up for sale over 1,778ac.
That compared with 52 farms on 1,882ac the previous year.
We did our calculations on 24 farms that sold by year end, down from 28. Selling prices were in the range of €6,122/ac to €29,032/ac.
Dairy farmers continued to be the most active buyers along with part-time farmers and business type buyers.
Demand is highest in the north of the county – Dublin city has a long reach.
Motorways make the north of the county very accessible and land prices tend to be highest here.
Quinn Property sold 17.1ac of tillage land at Askinamoe, Ferns by auction.
It was knocked down at €341,000 or €19,941/ac to a local, mixed enterprise farmer. The firm also sold 18.7ac at Coolbawn, Ferns, for approximately €30,000/ac.
Quinn Property sold 35ac at Knockgreany, adjacent to Coolgreaney village in lots for almost €28,000/ac. Ten individuals registered to take part in this auction, most of them locals.

At Ballinruane, Ballycullane, PN O’Gorman sold 44.6ac at auction for just over €23,000/ac.
The buyer was a local dairy farmer. And at Shroughmore, Donohoe Town and Country sold an 86ac farm at auction for €2.3m, or €26,744/ac.
Keane Auctioneers sold a number of properties by private treaty at up to €15,000/ac.
