A 233ac farm near Gorey, Co Wexford has sold at auction, in lots for €3.54m. The farm at Ballyrory was sold by Quinn Property. The size of the farm generated a lot of interest – over 100 people attended the auction.

The holding was offered in the following lots. Lot 1 was 77ac with a derelict residence and Lot 2 was 74.6ac. Lot 3 came in at 81.3ac while Lot 4 was the entire.

Bidding on the individual lots totalled €3.03m in the first round of bidding. The entire was then offered but received no bids and so it was withdrawn.

The auction resumed with Lot 2. There was a number of active bidders on this lot, including local businesspeople and dairy farmers. The hammer fell at €1.68m to a local businessperson/farmer.

Attention then turned to Lot 3. It went on the market at €520,000. Two bidders then competed, one online and the other in the room. From this point on, the two battled it out. The latter individual won the bidding when the 81.3ac was knocked down at €660,000.

Lot 1 was then offered. The 77ac with residence and farmyard was declared on the market at €1.2m and, with no further offers forthcoming, the hammer fell at that price to a north Wexford based farmer/businessperson.

In other news, Goffs Property sold the 90ac with a training yard and residence at Friarstown, The Curragh, Co Kildare for €2.005m.

Bidding opened at €1.5m and the property was declared on the market at €1.85m.

After a number of further bids, the holding was sold under the hammer.

Jordan Auctioneers sold a 61ac farm at Cooltrim, Donadea, Co Kildare. Three bidders competed to buy the farm, one with equestrian interests while the other two were farmers.

The winner was one of the farmers who secured the property for €685,000.

Gannon Auctioneers also sold a 78.5ac farm at Ballydonnell, Mullinahone, Co Tipperary at auction, in lots, for a total of €1.725m.

Lot 1 was the entire. Five bidders competed to buy Lot 2 which was the main house and outbuildings on 41.5ac.

It was knocked down at €950,000 to an auctioneer who was acting in trust for a client.

Lot 3 was 37ac divided into four fields.

It sold for €775,000 to a local dairy farmer.
