The 2020 financial year will be one to remember for the Amazone Group as it saw sales jump by 15% on the previous year.

The German company saw its total revenue for 2020 hit €537m, up from €467m in 2019. This marks the group’s highest revenue in its 138-year history.

With over 80% of its products exported, Amazone said agricultural machinery sales were particularly successful in Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Russia and Austria. This was backed up by strong sales in France, Poland and Britain.

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, the firm said orders in all product areas are doing well and it is optimistic that sales will remain at a similar level to last year.

“However, the ongoing pandemic, persistent economic challenges and the ever-changing political situation may negatively affect the economy. In addition, we are currently faced with disproportionate price increases and bottlenecks from our suppliers,” said Amazone owners Christian and Justus Dreyer.

“On the other hand, global demand for high-quality foods continues to grow. Despite all these uncertainties, we expect sales to remain at a similar level to last year in 2021.”
