Farmers in the Kilkenny region are putting their shoulders to the wheel to build obstacles for a run taking place in the village of Kells on Saturday 21 October.
Those helping include tillage farmer and eight-time All-Ireland hurling winner Noel Hickey, beef and sheep farmer William Hutchinson, dairy farmer Denis Lahart, and vegetable grower and Irish Farmers Journal contributor Julian Hughes.
The run is aimed at raising money for a local playground and the GAA pitch is being aptly christened the Reign of Terror (www.reignofterror.ie). I’m told Dawn Meats manager Philip Tallon is among those lining up to participate.

The Dealer would see it as a great opportunity for farmers to turn the tables and put the factory man under pressure for a change.
