A large number of land auctions are due to take place before the end of March.

An 11ac parcel at Derrypatrick, Kiltale, Co Meath, will be auctioned on Wednesday 22 March by REA Thomas Potterton. The land lies approximately 9km from Trim on the Dublin road (R154). It has frontage on to the main road. Thomas Potterton said the land is in three fields bordered by mature hedges and “there is a large steel-framed cattle pen with a chute and a mains water connection”. The guide price is €15,000/ac.

Laois

A farm of 31.46ac in Co Laois will be offered by online auction on Friday 24 March by Property Partners William Mansfield. The holding at Tintore, Ballacolla comes with a residence and old farmyard. The farmhouse is in need of refurbishment. The farm buildings include a 60ft by 40ft walled silage pit, a shed with 30 cubicles and a walled, open slurry tank.

The property is 2km from Ballacolla. There are two access points from the R433. One is a 1km tarred lane accessed at Begadons Forge, Tintore. It is maintained by the county council, the auctioneers say. The other is a 500m lane from the M8 motorway junction 3. The land has been in a long-term lease and is well minded. It is in permanent pasture and has mains water supply to all paddocks. There is an electricity supply to the yard.

This property can be sold in two lots, one of c11ac with the house and buildings and the second of c20.46ac. The auction can be accessed via Propertypartnersonlineauction.ie. By way of guide, William Mansfield said that land in the area is selling for “€20,000/ac plus”.

Cavan

An 18ac holding with a residence and farmyard near Cootehill, Co Cavan, will be auctioned on Thursday 30 March by Raymond Potterton Auctioneers. The auction will be in the auctioneer’s sales room and online.The property is at the townsland of Long.

The traditional two-storey farmhouse is in need of full renovation. The yard has three steel-framed sheds and a concrete yard with cattle handling facilities. It lies next to the farmhouse. The land is in grass, is well fenced and slopes to a stream. Auctioneer Stephan Barry said the farm is meeting good interest. “We’re guiding it at €150,000,” he said.

Clare

A 53ac farm near Broadford, Co Clare, is going for auction on Friday 31 March courtesy of REA Dooley Group. The holding is in the townlands of Ballymoloney and Ballyquinn and includes an old farmhouse. “The location is 1.5km from Kilbane village and a 20 minute drive from Limerick City,” auctioneer Pat Dooley said.

The auction will take place in person and online on LSL and the property will be offered in lots. Lot 1 is the old farmhouse on 13.3ac. Lot 2 is c13.4ac with an old ruin. Lot 3 is c26.4ac. Lot 4 is the entire. The guide price for the entire is €450,000 to €550,000.

Roscommon

Two small parcels of land at Ballydangan, Co Roscommon, will be sold by private auction. Final bids will be accepted from interested parties on Friday 31 March. They are being sold by Joe Naughton Auctioneers.

One parcel is 14.35ac at Faltia, Oldtown. The second is 12ac at the townland of Thomastown. The general location is 16km from Athlone and 16km from Ballinasloe. Both parcels are described by the auctioneer as good-quality land. The guide price is €12,000-€15,000/ac.
