After 30 years trading in Cormac Sheep Equipment, TJ Gormally has recently relinquished control of the business.

Specialising in sheep equipment, the business has been taken over by a partnership of Cathal Joyce and Bernie Mangan. Previous to the takeover, Cathal and Bernie worked in Cormac Sheep Equipment, which has helped contribute to a smooth transition for the company.

The pair are focusing on maintaining and expanding Cormac Sheep Equipment’s grant-approved sheep equipment and have recently delved into the UK market by exporting a number of mobile shower units.

TJ will remain heavily linked to the sheep industry, continuing to operate Cormac Sheep Tagging with his wife Kitty. He told the Irish Farmers Journal that growth in the tagging business also contributed to his decision to take a step back.

“I have had 30 great years working with sheep farmers right across Ireland. The tagging side of our business has grown substantially in recent years and we are delighted to be the largest supplier of tags to the Irish market. Tagging has come a long way since its official introduction in 2001 and with advancements in products such as DNA tags and genomics in sheep, the business is constantly changing.”

Cormac Sheep Tagging will work closely with Cormac Sheep Equipment to continue to offer a service through the business to order tags. Alternatively, customers can contact the company on 1800-303 635 or sheeptagging@eircom.net.
