A new record price of €4,000 was paid for a Belclare ram at the society’s premier sale held last week in GVM Tullamore Mart.

It was achieved by Sonny Jenning’s Cahergal Flock based in Tuam, Co Galway for Cahergal Mishka, a January 2026-born twin lamb boasting genetic indices in the top 1% of the breed for both the terminal and replacement index.

The record price set the tone for a successful sale with an average price of €832 and a clearance rate of 70% of ram lambs and hogget rams.
