Twenty-five classes of top-quality dairy cattle were on show starting with the young handler classes, followed by superb classes throughout the day. It ended with the climatic excitement of judge Harold Sweetnam tapping out of the overall supreme champion Baldonnel Goldie Larissa, exhibited by Cyril Dowling and T. Bourke, Baldonnel, Co Dublin.

Judge Harold Sweetnam, originally from Ireland and now farming in Manitoba, Canada, described the show as “fantastic, and an honour to judge, with the standard of cattle comparable to anywhere in North America”.
