The countdown is on and we’re just one week away from our annual Women & Agriculture conference. We have a small number of tickets left so if you’re thinking about attending, don’t delay. Bring a friend,

a sister or work colleague, or come on your own – every year, we have plenty of women who come and meet new friends at the event.

‘Minding You’ is the theme of this year’s conference. Woman are oft en the minders – we look out for our partners, many of us are minding children while others are caring for elderly parents. We look out for our friends, our neighbours, the people in our community.

But who is minding you?

At this year’s Women & Agriculture conference, we want to mind you.

We want to help you switch off with entertaining slots such as Neven Maguire’s cookery demonstration; uplift you with practical wellbeing and nutrition advice from Daniel Davey; educate and inform you with interesting speakers such as Evelyn Cusack, Seamús Walsh and

Jacinta Barrins. And we’ll hear from women who support their own family, such as Mary Martin, wife of An Taoiseach Micheál Martin who has been his confidante and sounding board throughout his years in politics. So that at the end of day, you’ll leave feeling supported

and minded. This is the break you deserve. The Irish Country Living team are really looking forward to meeting our readers, catching up with those who attend year aft er year and welcoming new attendees. The event has been months in the making and we love seeing

it all come together. If you haven’t been before, this really is a unique event. We chat, we laugh, we (sometimes) cry but we always leave feeling uplifted. Safe travels to all that are attending and we’ll see you in Sligo.

A celebration of style and support

As always, a major highlight of the Women & Agriculture conference is the shopping and exhibition area – and this year promises a dynamic mix of over 20 vendors offering everything from expert advice to retail therapy.

Visitors can access free health checks. Back for a second year, with registered nurses through the IFA Health Checks – make sure to book your slot early.

A range of organisations will be on hand to provide tailored support and information. These include FBD Insurance, AIB Sligo, and ifac, offering guidance on financial planning, insurance, and farm business management, specifically designed for women in agriculture.

Bord Bia and Aurivo Co-operative Society will showcase Ireland’s commitment to sustainable food production, while Cormac Tagging, Mullinahone Co-op and MSD will display the latest innovations in farm supplies and animal identification.

Health and wellbeing will feature strongly, with UPMC and the Decision Support Service offering information on physical and mental health supports.

Step Forward will be there with orthotic insoles, and Embrace FARM will offer information on supports for farm accidents. Adult Literacy for Life will highlight opportunities for lifelong learning and personal development.

And of course, there will be plenty to purchase and enjoy. Dunnes Stores will showcase its Simply Better local producers; Bánór brings Irish skincare made from sheep milk; and Beechill Bulbs offers a colourful selection of flower bulbs. Sweet treats come courtesy of Jinny’s, while BaaVet and Agri-Shield will have a range of clothing and household products.
