Offered in five lots, the latter being the entire, the property made a combined total of €1,095,000.

The star of the entire was lot number one. This fine parcel of circa 25 acres hit a home run when it sold under the hammer for €450,000.

Located in Brannockstown, Naas, Co Kildare, bidding on this superb-quality pastureland kicked off at €250,000 and briskly found itself heading north. Three interested bidders quickly became two as the price tag swiftly reached €410,000, at which point auctioneer Willie Coonan of Coonan REA temporarily halted proceedings.

A pause for consultation and discussion with the vendors led to the parcel being placed on the market at €410,000, before another bout of bidding saw the hammer drop at €450,000.

The Irish Country Living understands the buyer has an equine background.

The second lot was a non-residential, 20-acre holding. Opening at €150,000, two interested parties bid the property to €250,000 before the pause for consultation. Upon resumption, it was placed on the market and rose to €275,000. It was eventually sold in trust.

Lot number three, a residence on four acres, opened its doors at €150,000. A difficult auction saw this opening bid hold until the break, rising to €160,000 after being placed on the market after resumption.

The final parcel proved the trickiest of the four lots. Refusing to go below €200,000, Willie Coonan could not provoke interest from the floor for a residence on eight acres. However, the lot was sold for €210,000 after the auction. All parcels are located on the Naas-Dunlavin road.

Handling the sale, Willie Coonan complimented the quality of lands that were offered on the day. CL
