Tullow-based auctioneer REA Dawson has two properties going to auction at the beginning of March.

The larger of the two is a field of 20.5 acres (8.32ha) at Rathoe road, Tullow, Co Carlow.

This holding of prime arable land is currently in tillage and has delivered great yields over the years, according to the auctioneers.

Close to Tullow town, the land is zoned for commercial development and has medium- to long-term development potential.

With that in mind, this land is expected to make a premium above standard agricultural prices.

Land of this quality has sold in the area for €20,000/ac so there’s a chance this could result in one of the higher per acre prices for 2023 in the southeast region. It goes to public auction on 2 March at 3pm in the office of REA Dawson at Barrack Street, Tullow, Co Carlow.

Baltinglass holding

Also going for auction in the REA Dawson office, albeit a day earlier, is a field of circa 12.47 acre (5.05ha), at Carrigeen, Baltinglass, Co Wicklow.

Situated about 2km from Baltinglass, the land is suitable for any enterprise and is currently all in grass.

There is dual road frontage and the remnants of a small roadside shed and yard are also included in the sale. Guided at €12,000/acre, this tidy parcel of land could make a super addition to an existing farm or be developed as a small holding.
