A map of the farm.

The farm is on an unnamed road which comes off the R592 Schull to Ballydehob main road, close to the area known locally as Letter.

It is approximately 4.5km north east of Schull. This is a scenic part of west Cork and a property like this will attract the interest of non-farmers as well as local farmers.

The farm is in a peaceful area about 4.5km from Schull.

The two-storey cottage and yard are accessed by a private, hardcore lane. It extends for about 1km through the land. It was formerly used as an access to the copper and barite mines, which were worked on the farm during the early 1900s.

The land includes 32ac of nice grassland, plus 52ac of scrubland. The property comes with entitlements valued at €5,022.87 in 2021.

There are a number of sheds and older outhouses. There is also an old, stone, single-storey, derelict dwelling house.

The farmhouse is 910 square feet (84.5 square metres) in area and needs redecoration. The derelict house is 360 square feet (33 square metres).

This is a former dwelling house, now derelict.

Auctioneer Sam Kingston said that this farm is “over Schull and under the Sheep, which are a local landmark”.

He said: “It’s a nice old house. The farm would suit someone wanting a hobby farm or interested in planting forestry, as there is some in the locality. There are also some good sheds.”

A number of offers have been made for the holding.
