The Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) in Northern Ireland has lost some of its best talent in recent months, with the latest to jump ship being dairy researcher, Dr Debbie McConnell, who is reported to be taking up a new job with Lakeland Dairies.

The Omagh native is from good dairy farming stock, and led a lot of the AFBI work around grassland production and utilisation at the Hillsborough site.
