Ornua has announced a supply partnership between its UK subsidiary Ornua Nutrition Ingredients (ONI) and EasiYo, a New Zealand-based manufacturer of branded yoghurts. Under the terms of the supply agreement, ONI will supply Irish dairy powders and blend them into the EasiYo range of flavoured yoghurt mixes for sale in the UK and European markets.
This new supply partnership includes a joint investment of €850,000 from both companies to establish a new, purpose-built blending facility at ONI’s headquarters at Leek, Staffordshire, to manufacture the EasiYo range of yoghurts. Ornua say this will be the first time EasiYo products have been manufactured outside of New Zealand.
Alastair Jackson, managing director of Ornua Nutrition Ingredients described the partnership with EasiYo as an important added value route to market. “Ornua’s strategic objective is to develop opportunities for the export of Irish dairy products. This important partnership with EasiYo demonstrates that we are making strong progress in developing added value routes to market for high-quality, grass-fed Irish milk products,” he said.
