Department of Agriculture figures show that 63% of all Irish calves were registered online in 2017.

This marks a 4% increase from 2016 and has been helped by the improvement in the Department’s own calf registering facility Agfood.ie, and other farm software.

Out of the 2,354,588, calves registered in 2017, only 37% were registered using the traditional postal service.

Overall, there was a 22,683 increase in calf registrations between 2016 and 2017.
