Applied Concepts, based in Birr, Co Offaly, have been manufacturing air compressors and blasting equipment since 2007. The firm will showcase its updated Applied Aquablaster and Varimount PTO driven three-point linkage air compressor at this year’s National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska.

The VariMount 350 eliminates the challenges of towing a portable, diesel-powered air compressor behind a tractor for applications such as blowing out umbilical pipe lines after use.

As the compressor is powered by the tractor’s engine, it has the added benefit of reducing fuel costs and emission levels.

The all new Aquablaster can be used for wet or dry blasting at the touch of a button.

Inside sits the applied magnum air-end which incorporates its own gearbox that is built to produce 350 cubic feet per minute of airflow (cfm) at 10 bar. The Varimount 350 comes fitted with a detachable A-frame, leaving it easily mounted and demounted to either the tractor’s front or rear linkage. A unique selling point of the Varimount 350 is that it has no electrics, only pneumatic controls. The compressor fits within the dimensions of 1.2m² and has an operating weight of 1,325kg.

Aquablaster Extreme 100

The Aquablaster Extreme 100 blasting machine is the firm’s new flagship offering in dustless blasting machines. Users can switch between dry and wet blasting as well as blow down with the touch of a button.

Making the dustless blasting possible is a double diaphragm water pump capable of drawing off and pumping from any water supply.

Similar to the Varimount 350, the Aquablaster is completely pneumatic with no electrics and is marketed for use on steel, stone, brick, aluminium and more.
