Cork-based company Atkins is to open a new branch in Syngefield Industrial Estate, Birr, Co O?aly dedicated to Fendt – the first new branch outside its established Cork, Fermoy and Bandon businesses. Speaking to Mark Wolfe, managing director of Atkins said: “An opportunity came up in the area to service the Fendt business and we took it on. The branch will have six full-time employees, including Trevor Richardson as branch manager.

“All sta? have considerable experience of working with Fendt machines. The retail business will o?er the full portfolio of products.” On the service and after-sales support side, the Birr depot will be looking after the Irish midlands for Fendt. A separate unit on the premises will also provide a hub for the Atkins wholesale fertiliser spreader distribution business in support of its Bredal and Bogballe bealer network.

Atkins is inviting the farming community to either of its two forthcoming open days at Birr, on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 November.

A full line-up of Fendt tractors, including the 1050, will be on display. There will also be a Katana forager and one of the latest combine harvesters.

A range of Fendt tractors from the last 40 yearsshould also draw attention from existing owners. The first offcial day of trading will be 6 November.
