The Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association is inviting people across Ireland to organise tea events this March as part of the Drink Tea for MND campaign.

The campaign is aiming to raise awareness about Motor Neuron Disease (MND). This year’s campaign ambassador is Lily Chen. She lives in Termonfeckin, Co. Louth with her family where she runs her tea business, Lily’s Tea.

Lily was diagnosed with MND three years ago and is sharing her story in the hope of increasing support for others affected by the condition. Speaking on Drink Tea for MND, she said she is “raising the teacup with a small bit of hope and loads of love.”

There are over 400 people living with MND in Ireland. Drink Tea for MND will provide specialised beds, wheelchairs and communication aids for those affected. It will also fund the six MND nurses who visit families impacted by MND providing the care and advice they need.

To host a Drink Tea event or fundraise online, visit imnda.ie for details. You can also make a tea donation of €2 by texting MND to 50300. Lily’s Tea is available in Supervalu stores nationwide and on www.lilystea.ie
