After a number of weeks of continued chipping away at beef quotes, prices have steadied up this week on the back of good Christmas demand and tight supplies. Bullocks are working off a €7.40/kg quote, with heifers coming in at €7.50/kg base price this week.

Cows have probably seen the biggest drop in the last few weeks, with 40-50c/kg wiped off the price of P+3 cows in the last month. P+3 cows are coming in at €6.50-€6.70/kg this week.

Bulls have also steadied with up to €7.50/kg on the table for U grading bulls this week. Last week’s kill came in at just over 32,000 head, over 7,000 head behind the same week in 2024.
