Due to customer demand, Siobhán Joyce of Bowl-a-Granola has launched a new gluten-free line.
“Our best seller is honey and cinnamon, which was the winner of the silver award at Blas na hÉireann 2013 Irish Food Awards,” explains the Galway-based producer.
“This is the product we are adding to our existing line, but using gluten-free oats. It has been demanded by our customers and in the last five years, having a gluten-free line was one of our biggest targets and goals. People ask at every festival, food show and in-store promotion we do about a gluten-free version.”

In its infancy, Bowl-a-Granola was produced predominately for sale at farmers’ markets, but is now available throughout Ireland and in select stores in the UK.
Bowl-a-Granola’s breakfast cereals are made with Irish oats and lightly sweetened with a drizzle of honey. The existing wheat-free range has four varieties, with or without dried fruit. Also included in the range is Bowl-a-Muesli, which only contains the sweetness of dried fruit.
