A farmer in Co Galway is seeking more information following the theft of a cattle trailer worth €9,000 from outisde his house last weekend.
The 14ft 2020 Ifor Williams trailer was taken at around 5am on Sunday morning from Thornfield, Ballygar.
It was last seen on CCTV footage going through the town of Ballygar on the back of a red jeep just after 5am, ahead of a silver car which had been seen driving through Ballygar on its own around 20 minutes prior.
Ronan Collins, who is a sheep and suckler farmer, is seeking any information or footage to help recover the trailer.
"The trailer would be well known here in the west. We'd be at the marts every week whether it's Tuam, Elphin, Ballinasloe or Mountbellew. It had decks too and only had a new hitch put on it last week.
Busy road
"We'd be on a very busy road from Ballygar to Athleague, but we never had anything stolen before," Collins told the Irish Farmers Journal.
Footage attained from various locations has allowed Collins to rule out some directions that the trailer may have went in.
"We've been able to rule out a number of roads, so we think at this stage it could be gone the Galway/Ballinasloe direction. I've more footage to see, so hopefully we'll know more then.
"It's a pure nuisance the whole thing. It's been driving me crazy since Sunday to be honest," Collins said.
Garda Pat Regan is urging anyone with any information in relation to the theft to call him on 086-356 9904.
Garda Regan has also warned farmers to be wary of online scams when purchasing tractors from the likes of Germany, highlighting the increased number of websites that have been cloned.
