The continued drive for quality cows showed no signs of slowing at Carrigallen Mart on Monday night.

A packed ringside saw strong demand for heifers, bulls and in-calf cows as well as cull cows.

While there was a strong demand for all those categories, it was the cull cows that had the most bite. Auctioneer Eamonn Gaffney had a harder time moving plainer and traditional breeds, but continental cattle with any flesh at all were a roaring trade.
