The Connemara Pony Breeders Society (CPBS) last week announced the decision to delay its 2021 show by four weeks, to a new September date.
Traditionally taking place the second week in August (usually the week after the Dublin Horse Show) organisers have made the decision to hold its 97th Annual Connemara Pony Show over three days from Friday 10 September to Sunday 12 September 2021.
It is hoped that the extra month will give the show a better chance of running in accordance with Government COVID-19 guidelines.

Meanwhile, Dublin Horse Show organisers have said they hope to make an announcement on the status of the 2021 show in the coming weeks. The show is scheduled to take place from 18-22 August. This date, which is later than its traditional first week in August date is to accommodate athletes competing in the Tokyo Olympics, scheduled to begin on 23 July and running through 8 August.
