The Irish Charollais Sheep Society will be situated in its usual location midway through the sheep tunnel for the National Ploughing Championships.

Visitors to its stand this year will be treated to a fine combination of both pedigree and commercial examples of the breed, so you can visualise for yourself the many fine traits that Charollais sheep can impart into your flock and to your particular system of farming.

From the all-Ireland championship success, the winning stock ram of Eugene O’Sullivan, Ardcath, Co Meath, will be proudly displaying the fine characteristics of using a Charollais ram.

From the recent Tullamore Show, the winning pair of ewe lambs that were bred and exhibited by Richard Allen, Dunlavin, Co Wicklow, will also be present.

Commercial farmer

To satisfy the needs of the commercial farmer, a pen of Scotch horned lambs, ewes that were crossed with a Charollais ram, will be showing the hardiness and adaptability of the breed, especially with the weather conditions that were evident this year.
