Carnaross Mart is the latest to postpone its sale in light of concern around COVID-19 levels.

In a social media message to farmers, the mart said: "After much consideration for the health and safety of both our staff and customers, we have decided to postpone our sales next week."

Sales will resume on Monday 18 January and the mart office can still be contacted over the phone.

The mart is following the example of many marts around the country who have postponed sales due to the impact of COVID-19.

Online bidding only

ICOS, the body representing marts, has reminded farmers that throughout Level 5 restrictions, marts will operate online bidding only and a drop-and-go service will be in place.

While farmers can book time in a lairage to view stock before sale, they must ensure they are masked and observe social distancing and COVID-19 guidelines.
