Australian launch for Big Tom book

The best-selling book, Big Tom the King of Irish Country, which spent over three months in the Irish Top 20 from October 2018 to January 2019, will have its Australian launch at the Grand Hyatt Regency Hotel, 99 Adelaide Terrace, Perth, on Saturday afternoon, 9 March at 12.30pm.

Daniel O’Donnell, who is playing in the city later that evening, will be one of the guests at the event.

Tom Gilmore from Tuam, the author of the book, will be present to sign and the book will also be on sale at the merchandising stand at Daniel O’Donnell’s concert in The Riverside Theatre, Perth, which commences at 5pm on the same evening.

“I am so much looking forward to meeting members of the Irish diaspora in Perth,” says Tom.

“I have a great affinity with Australia and enjoyed my previous visit enormously. I am also delighted that Daniel is taking time out to attend the launch.

“I would hope that people back home in Ireland who read this and who have family members in the Perth area might contact them and let them know about the launch. Big Tom had a huge place in the hearts of so many Irish people overseas.”

Over the Rainbow from Trudi

Laois native Trudi Lalor has opted for the Judy Garland classic, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, as her new single.

Trudi says the song has been a long time favourite of hers and she always envisages doing a big production on it.

“I enlisted ace producer/arranger Peter Maher, and John Byrne, who arranged the strings and the orchestration for this special recording.

“All proceeds from the single are in support of Féileacáin (a not-for-profit organisation that aims to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after)and the song is available to download now on all digital platforms as well as in record shops countrywide.”
