All milk processors cut August milk price by an average of 1.73c/l excluding VAT, according to the Irish Farmers Journal monthly milk league.

Dairygold and Tirlán wielded the biggest cuts, with Dairygold dropping by 2.85c/l and Tirlán dropping by 2.38c/l. Between them, they process approximately half of the country’s milk pool.

They are joined in division three by North Cork Creameries and Centenary Thurles. The four west Cork co-ops remain in division one for August, despite cutting milk price by 1.5c/l.

Lakeland Dairies dropped the price by the smallest amount, cutting by 0.95c/l.
