Jim Nicholson MEP serves on the agriculture committee of the European Parliament and is in charge of the EP report on the implementation of the EU milk package. He called for a further improvement of the milk market observatory (MMO). Tom Tynan, member of the cabinet of EU Commissioner Hogan, confirmed that the MMO will be enhanced to improve relevance. Professor Holger Thiele from the Universty of Kiel in Germany called for more risk management and the introduction of a market-based insurance system.
