Farmers participating in the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) scheme have received a letter from the Department of Agriculture, amending the penalty schedule in relation to herds with 11 animals or less.
Scheme participants are required to have a certain number of reference animals genotyped each year.
The revised penalty schedule will mean that herds with 11 or less animals will be permitted to miss one genomic test.
