I see that a man who was convicted of stealing 49 sheep from a farm in the Peak District of Greater Manchester in England has been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison.
The convicted man had agreed to buy the sheep for £5,635 (€7,752) from another farmer. He said he would collect them when the cheque had cleared, but it never cleared and the farmer’s sheep were subsequently stolen.
It’s refreshing to see that rustling is being taken so seriously across the water, especially as we don’t have the strongest record for catching rustlers here, let alone prosecuting them.
