Congratulations to Gurteen College students, who recently raised €6,778 for local charities. The Level 5 agricultural class undertook a variety of tasks in their fundraising efforts: a sponsored climb of Croagh Patrick, a Shave ‘n’ Dye evening and a calf raffle (the EBI Friesian heifer was very kindly donated by the college). Funds raised were donated to Pieta House Roscrea, where a new centre was recently opened, and North Tipperary Hospice, which manages and funds two new cancer support centres: Suaimhneas in Nenagh and Suir Haven in Thurles. Well done to all involved.
