A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon

18 October: A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon is a new stop-motion clay animated comedy starring Justin Flecher, Joe Sugg and John Sparkles. It is the stand alone sequel to Shaun the Sheep the Movie by Aardman Animations. The film follows an alien with amazing powers, crash-landing near Mossy Bottom Farm. Shaun the Sheep goes on a mission to shepherd the alien home before a menacing group catches him. Farmageddon is rated G and hits Irish cinemas on 18 October.

Defending the Caveman

18 and 19 October: Rob Becker’s Defending the Caveman is the longest-running one-person show in Broadway and Las Vegas history. It aims to challenge and de-mystify the differences between the sexes. The show will star stand-up comedian Tom O’Mahony. The Oliver Award-winning show now tours Ireland for the first time. The show is a celebration of the differences between the sexes using psychology, sociology and observational comedy. The Ultimate Big Band Show

19 October: The Ultimate Big Band Show has been on the road for a number of years and this 20-piece big band jazz orchestra have put on a night exclusively for their home crowd. The Dixie King Jazz Band will be guest starring on 19 October night in the Ramor Theatre, Cavan. The night will feature music from artists such as Glenn Miller, Weather Report, Alison Moyet and Duke Ellington. It promises not to disappoint. The Rocket Man and The Piano Man

19 October: The Rocket Man and the Piano Man is a tribute to Elton John and Billy Joel playing in the Crescent Concert Hall, Louth. It is one of the original and unique tribute shows starring Graham Nash, who has toured worldwide and now comes to Ireland for the first time. The music will celebrate the time when Elton and Billy were dominating the charts from the 70s through to the 90s. Tickets cost €25 and are available on Ticketmaster. Twilight

21-24 October: Twilight written by John McDwyer features two All-Ireland award-winning actors John McDwyer and Tom Walsh. The play is being performed in The Dock Theatre in Carrick-on-Shannon for four nights only. The plot follows two friends who haven’t met in over 35 years and meet now for a coffee on a hotel balcony. The play follows the friends’ conversation and while containing humour is an account of how life choices lead to their own consequences.
