Tony Kerr sings songs from the heart of country music and an album release of his is something to celebrate and cherish.

His new album, Every Fool Has A Rainbow, is a 12-track collection full of classics, handled in the manner that we have now come to expect from such a talented country music artist. Songs from some of his heroes like Merle Haggard and Hank Williams are included here. Country fans will love his interpretation of the Hank Williams classic, I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.

Don’t Tell Mama I Was Drinking is also among the stand-out tracks. Tony’s love for country gospel is reflected in his interpretation of In The Garden. The album was recorded in Pinegrove Studio, Ballymena, and was produced by Paul McNeily.

American country star Leona Williams, who has recorded duets with Tony, including one on the new album, rates the Antrim man in the top league.

“One of the very best singers in all of country music is Tony Kerr from Ireland.

“I’m honoured to sing a duet with Tony on his new CD. We have shared the stage many times and I am always amazed at how he holds the audience in the palm of his hand,” says Leona.

Tony is making plans for a 19-day tour with Leona Williams across Texas, Missouri and Illinois from the middle of this month until early October. It will include a live radio broadcast from the Midnight Jamboree Show in the Ernest Tubb Theatre in Nashville on Saturday night, 27 September.

“This is a great chance to meet so many from the American country scene. Leona is a great lady with a special love for the Irish people. She is also enormously respected on the American country scene so it is a real privilege to be part of her shows,” says Tony. CL
