The House with a Clock in Its Walls:21 September: What happens when a young boy moves in with his uncle in an ancient house with a mysteriously ticking heart? Ten-year-old Lewis Barnavelt is recently orphaned and moved to live with his uncle Jonathan in the spookiest house Lewis has ever seen. The Collector: 26 to 28 September: A socially awkward butterfly gatherer will form the basis of The Collector at the Everyman Theatre in Co Cork. Based on the classic novel by John Fowles, the show tells the story of Frederick Clegg, who becomes infatuated with beautiful, intimidating art student Miranda Grey. Eventually, he cannot contain himself and becomes no longer content to watch her from afar. Much like his beloved butterflies, he resorts to collecting her. Susanna: 25 September: Norwegian artist Susanna explores the unknown by utilising various different musical styles and instruments with her own characteristic vocals in an eclectic show at the National Concert Hall on 25 September. Go Dig My Grave is her 12th album, a deeply personal collection of songs with roots in American and European musical heritage. The artist is collaborating with Swiss baroque harp player Giovanna Pessi with whom she has worked before. Pessi will be joining Susanna live along with accordion and fiddle players to round off the performance. Tickets are priced at €20. See www.nch.ie.

Sharon Shannon, Frances Black and Mary Coughlan: 20 September: Three powerhouse Irish performers are uniting for a compelling show combining their array of talents in the Lime Tree Theatre, Co Limerick. Sharon Shannon, Frances Black and Mary Coughlan are no strangers to performing together and have been integral parts of A Woman’s Heart albums and tours. They will each perform a separate set before joining together at the end to finish off the night. Singers Coughlan and Black will impress with their vocals while Shannon will dazzle with her expert performance of traditional Irish music. Tickets are priced at €32. Rob Brydon: 22 September: Esteemed actor and comedian Rob Brydon will perform his hilarious show I Am Standing Up at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin for one night only. Brydon is best known for his hilarious roles in Gavin and Stacey, The Trip and Little Britain. His most recent appearance was starring in the British comedy film Swimming with Men.
