A farmer was rushed to hospital on Tuesday after the tractor he was driving collided with a lorry.
The incident occurred on the Boyne Valley Bridge outside Drogheda, Co Louth, shortly after 5am.
The farmer driving the tractor was brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, as a precaution.
It is understood he is in a stable condition.
Gardaí said they attended the scene, along with emergency services.
The lorry driver, a man aged in his 40s, was arrested by Gardaí following the collision.
He was charged and later released and will appear before Drogheda District Court at a future date.
Gardaí could not confirm the details of the charges put to the lorry driver at this time.
