Trainer tips

Life Style Sports is helping future sneaker fans get fitted for their first pair of runners with the My First Trainers service. Available nationwide, in-store staff are trained to measure and fit runners from ages 18 months up to five years to ensure small feet get the best support. Here are some top tips when measuring kids’ shoes from the experts:

1. When the child is standing, check there are no gaps around the ankles by placing your fingers there to feel around the top of the trainer.

2. Feel around the ankle to check the shoe does not touch the ankle bone, as it could rub.

3. Feel the top of each trainer for the end of the child’s longest toe. Apply gentle pressure to check the toe is not pressing against the end of the shoe.
