What will happen to my local Superquinn store?
Your local store will still be there for your convenience but you may have noticed changes already. For example, there might have been some refurbishments. Since the announcement last year that SuperValu is taking over the brand, they spent over €10 million refurbishing and renovating a number of Superquinn stores. A further €20 million investment programme is planned for 2014 so that each former Superquinn store is upgraded. The focus on service, range, quality and value will be consistent to what is offered in SuperValu stores.
I love the Superquinn sausages. What will happen to them and the other Superquinn products that I like?
Products like the Superquinn sausage, Superquinn steak and Sean’s brown bread are all still on sale and will remain. You’ll also have more own-brand choice because, as part of the name change, SuperValu introduced more products in store such as the SuperValu own-brand range. That’s 2,000 products which are up to 33% cheaper than comparable brands. Also, as part of the name change, customers will be able to purchase the SuperValu Signature Tastes range which is a range of over 150 quality own-brand products that have been developed to suit Irish tastes.
What will happen to my Superquinn Reward Card?
The Superquinn Reward Card scheme will remain as is until later in the year when it will simply transfer across to SuperValu Real Rewards. Customers will not lose any of their Superquinn Reward Card points.
Superquinn is known for their great sales on things such as French food and wine. What will happen to them?
If you like your vino, be rest assured that the French wine sale and steak and wine sale won’t be going anywhere. Now SuperValu will have the largest wine range of any Irish supermarket, bringing together both old world and new world wines.
The changeover means there will now be 223 SuperValu stores in the country. CL
