Musgrave has announced that prices of Kerrygold butter products will be reduced across Supervalu and Centra stores nationwide from this Friday.
The reductions amount to a 9% cut in price across the Kerrygold range.
Musgrave has said the price cuts will deliver savings of up to €0.50 on Kerrygold products.
This move will see a range of Kerrygold branded butter products reduce from €5.49 to €4.99 and from €3.29 to €2.99.
“We recognise that household budgets continue to be under pressure and are committed to passing on savings to customers,” a Musgrave spokesperson said.
“By working closely with our suppliers, we aim to deliver value where possible.”
Tesco announcement
Tesco has also announced it has cut 50c off the price of a pound of Kerrygold butter, bringing the current price down from €5.49 to €4.99.
“This equates to a 9% cut in the price of Kerrygold. It follows recent reductions made on Tesco own label butter products, all aimed at ensuring our customers continue getting great value on the household staples that matter most to them,” a Tesco spokesperson said.
The news comes as spot market butter prices fell to their lowest level since 2021 this week.
Prices fell by €115/t to reach €3,835/t this week.
