New SsangYong dealer
SsangYong Motors have appointed Cassidy Motors Ltd as their first Connacht dealer. Located on Sligo Road in Charlestown, Co Mayo, Cassidy Motors was established in 1984. All SsangYong models from Cassidys come with a five-year warranty and roadside assistance and (for a limited time only) four years’ free servicing for all Korando and Korando commercial models.
Peugeot 308 unveiled
Peugeot has unveiled the new Peugeot 308 SW estate. As in the 308 hatchback, the new Peugeot 308 SW estate has been completely restyled with Peugeot’s new iCockpit interior. The car will be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show this March and will go on sale in Ireland in July of this year. The new Peugeot 308 SW will be 140kg lighter and the BlueHDi diesel version produces only 85g CO2/km.
3% rise in 2014 car sales
Europe’s battered car market is being predicted to grow in 2014, after a six-year slump. Car companies and motor industry experts say that car sales will increase by up to 3% this year, on the 13 million cars sold in 2013. Economists are claiming that car buyers are finally starting to feel confident to purchase new cars, but discounts are running close to 20% and lower on some markets.
New Hyundai i10
The latest version of Hyundai’s i10 city car is now on sale. With prices starting at €11,995 or £8,345 in Northern Ireland, the new model is available with just one 66bhp, 1.0-litre petrol engine. This is a low emission car at 108g/km, putting it into motor tax class A3 with an annual charge of €190. It comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, vehicle health check and AA Roadside Assistance.
Honda CIVIC Tourer
Honda has added a Tourer option to the Civic range, with claims of impressive boot space, fuel efficiency, equipment and style. The Civic Tourer is just 235mm longer than the Civic hatchback. The car is powered by Honda’s 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine, with a rated fuel economy figure of 3.8 litres/100km. The CO2 rating is just 99g/km, meaning annual road tax starts from €180.
