John Floody is certainly proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the Allianz Autumn Grand Prix league as he recorded his third win of the series. Riding Ballyknock Diamond, Floody returned to Cavan to take the win in the first of the double bill in the 1.35m section on Saturday. Floody set an unbeatable time of 40.83 seconds.

Bred and owned by Francis Hughes from Co Louth, Ballyknock Diamond (ISH) is by Jacomar and is out of Ballinlock. The dam who is by Touchdown has six foals registered, of which only one is by Jacomar.

Taking the runner-up spot to Floody was Emily Turkington and Willem when they crossed the line with nothing to add in 41.61. Owned by Turkington, Willem is a KWPN, 14-year-old gelding by Corland out of the Corofino-sired mare Noeskaranie.

In third place was Conan Wright riding Cara Touche (ISH) - he was just fractions behind in a time of 42.72. Bred by Brian Gormley from Longford and owned by Norman Allen, Cara Touche is a 16- year-old stallion by Touchdown out of the Flagmount Diamond-sired mare, Cara Pandora. This stallion has proved popular with Irish breeders and has produced offspring in all disciplines.

SUNDAY’S ACTION

On Sunday, victory in the 1.40m Allianz Autumn Grand Prix belonged to Alexander Butler riding HS Copperhead Cruise after posting a time of 37.93 seconds. Bred in Hartwell Stud by his owner Gina McCann, HS Copperhead Cruise (ISH) is a 10-year-old mare by Cruising out of the Randi-sired mare Fancy Fling. The mare has five offspring registered.

Emily Turkington and Willem filled the runner-up spot for the second night in a row, when they crossed the line in 38.43.

Third place belonged to Jonathan Smyth and Mulvin Lui when clear in 39.11. Bred by Vincent Loftus from Kildare and owned by Noletta Smyth and Roy Craig, the seven-year-old gelding is by Luidam out of the Baron De Chantepie-sired mare, Castleconnor Baron.

Loftus has four off-spring registered from this mare, three by Hi Kilrainey and just one by Luidam.

Winner of the 1.35m Young rider Grand Prix was Tim McDonagh riding Tick Tock Tina (ISH).

Bred by Brendan Noone from Galway and owned by Jackie Lee, the 10-year-old gelding is by Beowulf and out of the Diamond Lad-sired Coevers Diamonds Sister.
