Marine Harvest took on marine biologists, divers, boat operatives, a skipper, additional marine operatives and additional processing operatives in 40 newly created positions. The remaining 45 hires were summer/replacement roles.
In 2017, Marine Harvest expects to recruit for approximately 25 to 30 newly created positions and around 40 replacements/summer roles. Marine Harvest employs 293 people in 261 full-time equivalent roles.

Ballymaloe Foods created eight new positions in 2016, four of which were full-time and four of which were part-time. Two of these positions were in sales and marketing, two were in production and four were part-time in production.
Ballymaloe Foods expects to create four or five new positions in 2017. Those positions will be in production, while they are also hoping to hire one person for the finance department. Ballymaloe Foods employs 28 people altogether.
