The Fertilizer Association of Ireland has launched iPhone and Android smartphone app versions of its online fertilizer calculator. The app is available to download from iTunes and in the Google Play Store (see QR codes).
The app is an extension to the existing online calculator on www.fertilizer-assoc.ie
The app and online calculator are designed to calculate guideline P and K and fertilizer advice for grassland, forage and tillage crops from simple inputs that can be entered based on specific field information.

The calculator will provide a P and K recommendation for a grass or tillage crop in seconds. The calculator takes account of a number of factors such as farm system, stocking rate, crop yields, soil test results and organic manure usage, to give simple bottom-line estimation of fertilizer P and K requirements.
It is important to note that a farmer must comply with the regulatory requirements for P application. This online calculator calculates the agronomic requirement for P and K for a field based on the inputs entered. Whole farm limits under the Nitrates Regulations or other schemes must still be cross-checked and adhered to.
The calculator was developed by The Fertilizer Association of Ireland, in association with Teagasc, and K+S UK & Eire Ltd
