All avenues are being explored by the Golden Shears committee to raise awareness and generate support for the wide range of planned activities. Caitriona Graham (Miss Askamore Macra) and Elizabeth Earle (Miss Blackwater Macra) were busy at the Wexford Races drumming up support ahead of the Queen of the Wool finals. The event takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday 17 May in the ICM Shearing Dome and kicks off the programme of events for the Golden Shears World Sheep Shearing and Wool Handling Championships.
Tickets cost €10 and are available on the door. Entertainment on the night is being provided by Comhaltas Na hEireann and Beat 102-103 and it promises to be a great night for all involved. Adults and children are all welcome.
