Gardaí in Carlow have stopped a tractor and trailer for driving on bald tyres.
The tractor and trailer were stopped at a checkpoint by the Carlow Road Policing Unit and the Road Safety Authority due to visible balding on the trailer tyres.

Gardaí have reminded road users that tyres are their only point of contact with the road and that they are fundamentally important to a vehicles roadworthiness.
They encourage drivers to regularly check their tyres before setting off on any journey, especially given the increased number of agricultural machinery on the roads during silage season.
