A holding of 57.8ac of agricultural and forestry land has come on the market in Co Offaly.

The land is at Endrim, Ferbane, Co Offaly.

It is being offered by private treaty by GVM Auctioneers Tullamore on the instruction of the representatives of the late Johnnie Keenaghan.

The location is 7.5km from Ferbane, 7.5km from Doon and 18km from Athlone.

Land type and lots

The land is being offered for sale in two lots. The first lot is 48.3ac and includes both grazing and planted forestry land. The grazing land is of very good quality and extends to 32ac. There are 16.3ac of planted forestry and this is located at the furthest point from the main road.

The forestry was planted in 2006 with Norway Spruce but a portion of approximately 8.92ac needed to be replanted with Alder in 2010. The guide price for Lot 1 is €230,000 or €4,762/ac.

The second lot is located down a laneway and is 9.5ac of good-quality grazing land. It would be an ideal place to get started in farming or on which to expand a current farming enterprise, the auctioneers say. The guide price is €55,000, or €5,789/ac.

There are no entitlements being sold with this land.

Getting there

To find the land, take the Athlone road out of Ferbane (N62) travelling in the direction of Athlone. At approximately 3.5km from Ferbane take the turn to the left that is sign-posted Endrim and L7007. At the crossroads you can either go straight through or take the turn to the right – both roads go to the lands which can be identified by the auctioneer’s sign. The Google Maps co-ordinates are:
