Declan heads for Claremorris

Declan Nerney will host his annual dancing weekend in the McWilliam Hotel in Claremorris from March 22 to 24.

The Longford singer and his band will perform three shows for patrons on Friday and Saturday nights and again on the Sunday afternoon.

Declan is delighted to have John Glenn and The Mainliners as part of their double show on the Friday night while Mick Flavin and band will double up with Declan on the Saturday night show.

His guest on Sunday afternoon will be Gerry Guthrie.

He is also pleased to announce that they have just added Glenshane Country, featuring Pat McKenna (The Wind On The Hill) and Hughie Turner, as their guests for the Saturday afternoon dance.

The Derry duo are among the premier attractions on the social dancing scene in the western province.

Kilkenny line-up for summer fest

The Kilkenny Country Music Festival 2019 will be staged at Gowran Park Racecourse on Sunday, July 14, from 1pm to 6.30pm.

This is the third year of the Kilkenny Fest and the dedicated committee are already putting a push behind the summer venture.

The line up in Gowran Park includes Mike Denver, Jimmy Buckley, Clíona Hagan, Michael English, Trudi Lalor, Patrick Feeney and the Conquerors.

The organisers are hoping that many will avail of the “early bird” deal of €20 per ticket which will be in operation until the end of March.
