Enniscrone rolls out the welcome

Enniscrone on the shores of Killala Bay is ready to roll out the welcome for the annual Welcome Home Enniscrone Dance Festival that runs from Sunday 9 to Friday 14 June.

The venue is once again the Diamond Coast Hotel which has hosted this venture since its launch.

Gerry Flynn, CEO of Enjoy Travel, the company that pioneered the overseas music holidays phenomenon, says he is delighted to be heading back to his home turf.

“I grew up in Ballina which is only seven miles up the road and we always had strong associations with Co Sligo as well. We feel so much at home in Enniscrone” says Gerry.

The music festival caters for country music, set dancers and céilí bands with performers including Johnny Reidy (Sunday), Foot Tappers (Monday), Neily O’Connor (Tuesday), New Annaly (Wednesday) and Matt Cunningham (Thursday).

The country entertainers for the night shows in the main ballroom are Michael O’Brien and Philomena McGovern and the Stephen Smyth Band (Sunday), The Duets, Olivia Douglas and The Enjoy Travel Band (Monday), Declan Aungier, Gary Gamble and Enjoy Travel Band (Tuesday), Glenshane Country (Pat McKenna and Hugh Turner) and Joe Davitt Band (Wednesday) and Paddy Jordan and Kieran Towey, Louise Morrissey, Dermot Hegarty and the Enjoy Travel Band (Thursday). There is also daily afternoon dancing from 3pm to 5pm.

No Enjoy Travel trip would be complete without the ever-popular sessions which will be hosted nightly in the lounge by Mick Mackey (Clonmel) and friends.
